ENVIRO NAUTA
In-situ gamma spectrometry, in fresh water and sea water — measuring where the water stands, instead of carrying samples ashore.
This page reproduces the state of things so far, no more than that. Unlike the ENVIRO GO and the two cabin stations, there is at present no product description with substantiated figures for ENVIRO NAUTA. The four figures below come from the previous website; they are confirmed neither by a measurement nor by a data sheet.
For that reason we state no detection limits here. For a tender we establish them case by case — under water they depend more strongly on the location than on the instrument anyway.
Four details from what exists
- Operating depth
- to 100 m
- Medium
- Fresh water and sea water
- Data storage
- up to 5 years
- Power consumption
- under 2 W
Power consumption is the figure that matters: under 2 W an instrument can be run from a battery for months, with no cable to the shore. Together with the data storage on board, that gives the operating case ENVIRO NAUTA is intended for — put it out, leave it lying, read it out later.
All four values come from the previous website. The conditions under which they apply — water temperature, sampling rate, detector type — are not documented.
Where a water sample comes too late
Taking a sample, bringing it to the laboratory and measuring it there takes days and gives a single point in time. Measuring in situ gives a series.
Pressure housing, detector, multichannel analyser
Details from the previous website. The pressure housing, the material, the sealing concept and the approval for use in sea water are not documented and are to be established case by case.
Tell us which body of water and which nuclide
For a sound conversation, the body of water and its salinity, the nuclide being looked for, the operating depth and the planned interval between two servicings are enough.
